This is my first year celebrating thanksgiving since my Celiac diagnosis. It is also my first time hosting our family thanksgiving celebration and our first holiday in our new home! I am excited and energized to create a traditional delicious thanksgiving meal that I too can enjoy and no one need know the gluten is gone!
I practiced a few recipes on some friends of ours last week for a Friendsgiving dinner, and although I roasted a chicken and not a turkey… I think it all turned out so great!
Here’s what I made:
I partnered with one of my long time favorite Gluten Free brands, Bob’s Red Mill, to create these recipes using their gluten free baking products that are high quality, very affordable and that you can find in most grocery stores.
I used the Bob’s Gluten Free 1 to 1 Baking Flour in every recipe that called for flour and it worked like a charm. I didn’t have to make any special substitutions or bake differently. It baked, looked like, and tasted like a typical baking flour! PTL!!
I love working with Bob’s Red Mill for so many reasons as I have mentioned a few above, but another one close to my heart is their partnership with No Kid Hungry and the Friendsgiving fundraiser they hold each year. You can find out more details here on how to join in the Bob’s Friendsgiving team or to host your own at your Thanksgiving gathering this year. It is a super simple way to support and give back this year and for every $100 raised you can provide 1000 meals to a child in need!
